Victorian Shirt Sewing Pattern Folkwear 202 XS S M Unisex
Folkwear 202 - Victorian Shirt.
This fashionable dress shirt was featured in Harper's Bazaar in the 1870s and, as rural people began to emulate urban trends, was adopted in America and Europe by farmers and tradesment, who continued to use it long afterward for everyday wear. It is suitable today for both men and women, tucked in or as a tunic, overshirt or nightshirt.
The shaped front bib has a buttoned placket opening, finished with a horizontal tap enclosing a box pleat. The simple neckband was orginally worn with a separate purchased collar. Soft pleats fall in back from a shoulder yoke; the seeves are also pleated into cuffs.
Printed pattern, instructions in English.
Multiple Sizes - please note the sizes are per 1970s sizing, so smaller than today.
No measurements given.
Extra Small - women's size 6-8
Small - men's small, women's sizes 10-12
Medium - men's medium, women's sizes 14-16
-> The pattern was cut at Medium size!
Condition: the main pattern pieces have been cut at medium size, all pieces are complete. Pattern envelope is damaged - see photos. This pattern was first published in 1978, but is still in print. This particular pattern is definitely an older issue of it.
High shipping price is due to pattern size and weight - these patterns are printed on sturdy paper, not tissue paper like other patterns.
