1930s Frohne Pattern System Album with 40+ Sewing Patterns for Misses and Children
A 1930s "Modell-Album" by Frohne with 40+ patterns, showing typical 1930s styles - sleek, slim, long, with an emphasis on the shoulders.
Frohne was a pattern grading/drafting system like Lutterloh with a smaller pattern diagram being printed that could be enlarged to one's actual size/measurements by using this system. Published by the Frohne company in Germany.
This album consists of a loose cover and 18 loose, double-sided, folded pages. They have a pattern drawing on each side of the fold, with the corresponding pattern diagram printed on the other side. Most of them have two patterns per folded album page, a few have several, so it is more than 40 patterns all in all.
The illustrations are all in black and white. Most patterns are for women, a few are for children. They cover all, occasions, ranging from formals to day wear suits, dresses, separates, sleep and house wear.
In German, but contains no instructions, descriptions or other things.
Condition: good. There is one double page that shows some damage along the edge, all the others are fine.
