1930s Childrens One-Piece Pajamas Pattern Advance 914 for age 2
Avery early Advance sewing pattern from the 1930s, for a child's one-piece pajamas or onesie, classic shape with a back flap.
From the envelope:
Child's pajamas: a well-tailored model that is easily and quickly made at home. This model is collarless and buttons down the front with the trousers buttoning to the bodice in the back. Long sleeves are finished with a tailored band and perforations provide for a shorter sleeve.
Unprinted pattern, contains also an instruction sheet.
The Advance pattern company was started in 1933, and with the combination of the pattern sleeve design and very low pattern number, I have reason to believe that this is indeed a very early Advance pattern, probably from their first year. Their pattern brochure of February 1934 already shows 4-digit pattern numbers starting in the 1000s.
Size: marked for 2 years old, with a 21" / 53 cm chest. There are no further measurements given.
Condition: Excellent for a pattern this old. The pattern pieces are complete, and I believe unused, as they look absolutely pristine. The color of the originally blue pattern envelope has faded with age, especially on the sides - please refer to the photos. The envelope also has a small tear on one side.
