1950s Misses Suit and Blouse Sewing Pattern Ullstein Luxus Schnitt L4260 B38
1950s vintage sewing pattern for an elegant skirt suit and blouse. It has that typical silhoutte with a very nipped-in waist and rounded hips.
The suit jacket has long kimono sleeves, a funnel neck and a wide waist part with four buttons, above which soft pleats accentuate the bust. The blouse with short cap sleeves mimicks the same shape. Calf-length, straight skirt with back pleat.
Unprinted pattern with hole and stamp markings in German, instructions in German on the inside of the sleeve (text only, no illustrations).
This is a rare German pattern by Ullstein, called "Luxus Schnitt" - meaning luxury pattern, this may have been an extra line by them. The front also mentions the women's magazine "Brigitte", so it may have been published there.
Size: marked size II, which is the old German sizing system.
Measurements:
Bust: 37 3/4" / 96 cm
Waist: 30" / 76 cm
Hip: 41 1/4" / 105 cm
Condition: all pieces are complete, some look to have been used, some unused. The envelope is damaged in various places (see photos), not least because it was originally glued closed and then ripped open.
